Problem
Designing an intuitive online shopping and enrollment experience for MedicareAdvantage.com presents several challenges, including adhering to strict regulatory rules, addressing accessibility concerns for a target audience of 65+ year-old seniors, optimizing the platform for older mobile phones, and simplifying the process to minimize the learning curve.
Solution
Develop a user-friendly interface on MedicareAdvantage.com that allows users to effortlessly find, compare, and enroll in suitable Medicare Advantage plans while complying with regulatory requirements and addressing the unique needs of the target audience.
Process

Conduct thorough research on regulatory rules and accessibility guidelines to ensure the platform meets all necessary compliance requirements.

Implement a responsive design that caters to various devices, including older mobile phones, to provide a seamless experience for all users.

Simplify the user interface and navigation by breaking down the process into three straightforward steps: finding a plan, comparing local plans, and enrolling in the chosen plan.

Run multiple user test with the target audience to gather feedback and iteratively refine the design to ensure optimal usability and accessibility. Research efforts include qualitative and quantitative usability and impression testing (moderated and unmoderated), in addition to data aggregation and evaluation using the PURE method (NN/g) and benchmarking.
