Project Description

A freelance platform for best-in-class design talent specializing in Metaverse, NFT and Web3 applications.



Problem

The growing demand for Metaverse, gaming, and web3 talent calls for an efficient, blockchain-powered freelancing platform that can seamlessly connect clients and freelancers while providing innovative tools for project management, collaboration, and financial tracking. The platform should enable users to showcase their work, trade virtual assets, hire talent instantly, and offer incentives such as commission-free transactions and a referral program to attract and retain users. To ensure an intuitive and consistent development process, atomic design principles must be employed. Furthermore, the platform should be accessible for marketing team members to post updates and blogs.



Solution

Flan, a blockchain-powered freelancing platform, addresses these needs by offering a variety of features, including the ability for users to showcase their work, explore projects, talent, and virtual assets, and create new project tickets. Clients can review applicants and hire talent directly, streamlining the recruitment process. The platform also fosters collaboration by providing tools such as video/text chat, shared notes, shared project calendars, and an all-encompassing Mothership dashboard. Users can choose their preferred payment method, with options to pay per task or per hour with crypto or FIAT (debit/credit). Incentives such as commission-free transactions through Flan token staking and a flat 12% commission rate for all projects, as well as a referral program, enhance user satisfaction and promote growth.



Process

The Flan platform was designed using atomic design principles, ensuring an intuitive and visually appealing user experience. The lead-gen side of the platform was created with Webflow, enabling team members to post updates and blogs without requiring technical expertise. The web app was developed in-house under my leadership, guiding a team of developers through the development process with an emphasis on collaboration and efficiency.



Results

Flan's success is evident through its securing of a Celo Community Fund grant and being awarded the Celo Innovation Award. The platform quickly attracted over 1,000 users upon launch, showcasing its effectiveness and appeal to the target audience. The comprehensive range of features and integrations provided a seamless experience for both clients and freelancers, fostering efficient project management and collaboration. The incentives offered by staking and the referral program contributed to the platform's growth and user satisfaction. The use of atomic design principles and Webflow allowed for a visually appealing and accessible platform that promoted teamwork and kept users informed through updates and blogs.


